Research Interests:
My interests lie at the intersection of environmental engineering and communicable disease. I aim to use biotechnology and molecular tools to advance our knowledge of how human pathogens reside and persist in environmental compartments where they pose a risk of transmission.
Research Projects:
Currently I am analyzing a cohort of human stool samples for SARS CoV 2 genetic sequences. Included in this group are samples from individuals before, during, and after infection with the virus. Presence and titers of virus shed in the stool at various stages of infection will inform models for predicting community prevalence of infection for given quantities of SARS CoV 2 genetic sequences detected in wastewater.
